Interior minister visits journalist Ahmad Noorani, says supervising investigation

Photo: Geo News ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal visited on Tuesday journalist Ahmad Noorani ? who was recently assaulted by unidentified men ? and said that he is personally supervising the investigation of the attack. The interior minister and Prime Minister's Adviser Irfan Siddiqui arrived at the residence of the senior The News reporter and inquired about his well-being. The interior minister said that the latest tools are being utilised to aid the investigation process. The initial report of the attack on Noorani was submitted to the Interior Ministry, although no one has been identified as yet. The report said that a total of six attackers were following Noorani from Rawalpindi. The attackers were trained to the extent where they expertly hid their faces from CCTV cameras of the Safe City Project along the way, it has been learnt. The report mentioned that only one attacker's picture was available, which can be identified. It also recommends the Intelligence Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency for geofencing. Journalist Ahmad Noorani's health is improving, confirms brother Noorani was assaulted on Khayabane Suharwardy road on Friday On Oct 28, Noorani's car was stopped by men travelling on a motorcycle near Zero Point Interchange while he was on his way home from Rawalpindi. The men severely beat up Noorani and his driver with iron rods and a knife after throwing out the keys from the ignition. They later fled the scene.
