No money laundering allegations against Imran: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said that there are no money laundering allegations against party chief Imran Khan. Speaking to media on Thursday, Fawad said that cases against Imran Khan are completely different from those against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. ?People comparing the two cases should be ashamed,? remarked the PTI spokesperson, adding that the cases against Imran Khan have no legal value. ?We have even submitted 40-year-old records,? Fawad added. ?We have not called for any Qatari letter to come save us,? he remarked while taking a jibe at political rival Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's court. ?We have submitted details of banking transaction to the court,? he said. The PTI spokesperson further said that the case again Imran would be thrown in the trash bin. On Thursday, the Supreme Court once again stated that the PTI lawyer failed to give a satisfactory response in the Imran Khan disqualification case. The apex court had resumed the hearing of PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi?s petition seeking Chairman PTI Imran Khan?s disqualification. The PTI chief's counsel, Naeem Bukhari, presented his arguments before a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Umar Ata Bandial. Imran disqualification case: SC again dissatisfied with PTI counsel?s response Justice Umar said that the documents do not prove that Imran Khan brought money back from London During his arguments, PTI counsel Naeem Bukhari said that an email has been sent to Imran?s former wife Jemima Khan. Jemima has confirmed receiving 75,000 pounds, said Bukhari, adding that she has assured that she will send the bank details after finding them. Justice Umar said that the documents do not prove that Imran Khan brought money back from London. Meanwhile, Abbasi's counsel Akram Sheikh said that the bank statement submitted by Imran is of May 19, 2017 although the case is years old.
