Dwayne 'Champion' Bravo Posts Special Message For Chennai Super Kings Fans
Arguably one of the best all-rounders in limited-overs cricket, Dwayne Bravo rendered his all-round services to various franchises across the globe. While his explosive batting is capable of accelerating the innings for any team, the deceiving variations in his bowling are an absolute nightmare for an opposition batsman. From Trinbago Knight Riders to Essex, Lahore Qalandars to Melbourne Renegades, Bravo is a T20 franchise's delight with his multiple skills of power-packed batting and bowling during death overs. Thus, it was no surprise to see the Trinidadian snapped up by his old team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the IPL auction. The 34-year-old was retained by CSK for a staggering Rs 6.40 crore after the franchise exercised their Right to Match (RTM) card during the crazy bidding war in the auction. While Chennai were clearly adamant on bringing their old war horse back into the team, Bravo, himself, expressed his happiness on rejoining his old employers. "Chennai is my home away from home," roars Champion @DJBravo47! ðð¦ð #PrideOf18 #WhistlePodu #SummerIsComing pic.twitter.com/wg3Cdafjtf — Chennai Super Kings (@ChennaiIPL) January 30, 2018 “Personally, they (CSK) are the best franchise that I have ever played for and I am looking forward to it and meeting up with our captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, (Ravindra) Jadeja and also to the newcomers who are now going to be new members of our family,” Bravo was quoted as saying by the CSK website. Dear Super Fans, thank you for all the patience, prayers, roars and whistles in the past two days! Just like all our matches, it was a nail-biting finish. Presenting the #PrideOf18. Here's wishing them a roaring summer ahead!ð¦ðð #NewTeamSamePride #WhistlePodu #SummerIsComing pic.twitter.com/zqTXa3ZFTm — Chennai Super Kings (@ChennaiIPL) January 28, 2018 “Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu (he played with them for MI) to just name a few guys who are going to join us and wear the Yellow jersey. can't wait. I am happy, blessed and honoured to be retained by the Chennai Super Kings,” he added. Bravo, who played for Chennai from 2011 till 2015 in the IPL, amassed 706 runs and claimed 79 scalps. The right-hander also termed his CSK return as a big moment that a lot of individuals were waiting for. “The return of CSK to the IPL is a big one, a special one, a moment that a lot of people were waiting for,” Bravo said. © BCCL “Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in IPL history. Definitely, IPL without Chennai Super Kings, it didn't have the same impact it had in the previous years,” he added. On Dhoni leading CSK again, Bravo said: "“I think the return of CSK, you know, Dhoni again representing Chennai Super Kings, being the leader, the fan base, the fan following that we have in India and outside of India, they mean a lot". Apart from Bravo, CSK also managed to secure the services of the South African paceman Lungi Ngidi and the West Indies star was all praise for his new teammate. “A young, talented fast bowler… I am very happy to be in the same team with him. I am looking forward to embracing him when he comes to represent the best franchise in the world,” Bravo said.
