From A Crippling Back Injury To Natural Bodybuilding, Vishwa's Journey Is Pure Inspiration

To start with, I was always an active child. Even through the early years of college I made it a point to stay as active as I could. Sadly though, studies caught up to me and I slowed down. I grew overweight and because of lifting with wrong form, I was diagnosed with slip disc. Though it wasn't that severe, I still had this thing always ringing in my head. Soon, I enrolled for my Masters Degree. Spare time got lesser and hectic schedules made their way in. In no time, my weight shot up from 80 to 98 kilograms. In short- I was in the worst shape of my life and I really didn't like it. © Vishwa On January 1st, 2016 I made a resolution to lose weight. Though I was very determined to lose weight, I had little to no knowledge on training and nutrition. Whatever I knew wasn't enough. This is when I started reading articles and fitness blogs and started gathering bits of information. Whatever I read, I applied on my body and this how I took off in the first place. © Vishwa While I thought I was going well, improper form while training got to my silent back injury yet again. I was working out in the gym and due to improper posture I snapped my back and the pain aggravated. In a span of a few minutes, the pain was unbearable. What followed this was zero mobility for about 4 days and no one to help me. I managed to get to an orthopedic doctor and got treated with Anti-Inflammatory drugs. Of course, he told me to stay away from heavy lifting for the rest of my life. From The Bed To The Stage Down with what the doctor had warned me about, I started reading about back injury rehab. I learned that proper lifting postures and nutrition can correct injuries by 90 %. After two weeks of physiotherapy, I was back in the gym. I made sure of my posture and started designing my own diet charts. After 22 months, I reached 68 kilograms and the kind of body I always dreamt of and went on to participate in state-level fitness bodybuilding competition. After that, I started interning with GetSetGo Fitness and also participated in MuscleMania 2017 for physique category under the guidance of Pratik Thakkar from Get Set Go itself. The internship taught me a ton of things I never knew were possible, naturally. The Learning The kind of changes fitness brought into my life cannot be expressed in words. It made me a better person altogether both physically, mentally and professionally. Fitness for me, is now a lifestyle.
