Meet The Indian Man Who Owns 22 Apartments In Dubai's Burj Khalifa

Living in the world's tallest building might be a part of almost everyone's ideal life. Sure, it sounds impressive. And OWNING an apartment in the world's tallest building would definitely be a dream come true. But what if someone tells you that they own 22 apartments in that very building? You'd probably laugh in his face. However, for this Indian man, this is actually true and is in fact, just the beginning. © Burj Khalifa George V Nereaparambil, a businessman from Kerala owns 22 apartments out of the 900 in Burj Khalifa and says that he isn't stopping at this number. "If I get a good deal, I'll buy more. I am a dreamer and I never stop dreaming," he said in an interview to Khaleej Times. © Facebook Now you must be wondering how and why exactly did he go on to own a staggering number of apartments in the same building. Well, it all started with a joke that George took a little too personally. “How can a short man like you even see the Burj Khalifa fully, let alone enter the world's tallest tower? Can you enter this building?” a friend of him once said. But George was determined to prove his friend wrong. So in 2010, when he saw an advertisement in a newspaper about an apartment for rent in the building, he went ahead and rented the apartment the same day and started living in it from the next day. But of course, he didn't always have so much money at his disposal to just go ahead and rent out expensive apartments. At the age of twelve, George began assisting his father in his family business, in his native hamlet in Trichur. His father was running a traditional family business related to cash crops trading and George's job involved transporting the materials to the market and bargaining with the traders while juggling with his school. However, he wanted to be an independent trader and soon he set up his own little side business too, making money from waste. And what he did has left us really impressed, “People in my hometown used to trade cotton, but they'd throw away the cotton seeds. Not many people knew at that time that you could make gum from those seeds.” He revealed that he'd often make a "90 per cent profit selling them on". Then in 1976, he arrived in Sharjah to work as an automobile mechanic. However, he soon realized that due to the high rise in temperature, the place was the perfect market for air-conditioners, which eventually became his core business. Within a decade, the business showed steady progress after which he decided to expand the company by setting up GEO electrical Trading and Contracting Co LLC. GEO Group's presence now extends far beyond the Gulf into other countries across the Globe and it has emerged as a major competitor for all MNC's in rental cooling and power solutions. © GEO Group Global What's more is that back in the day, he made significant efforts to make the Cochin International Airport a reality and the second-biggest shareholder in Cochin International Airport Ltd., after the Kerala government. His next big plan is to build a canal from Trivandrum to Kasarakod, and he's inviting others to step forward and help make his dream a reality. His hard work and positive attitude towards taking risks has proved that for anyone who is as determined as he has always been, nothing is impossible.
