Kim Kardashian On The Cover Of An Indian Magazine Is Every Desi Troll's Wet Dream

Kim Kardashian has time and again proved that she can rock anything – or nothing at all – but with great power comes a greater opportunity of getting trolled. The whole Kardashian-Jenner clan face backlash at almost everything they do, actually they face criticism just for being alive and famous, more famous than any other family, probably. I don't think people talking about them actually affects them as well, because any kind of publicity is still publicity. Red alert: Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) turns up the heat on our #March 2018 cover! Photographed by: Greg Swales (@gregswalesart). Stylist: Anaita Shroff Adajania (@anaitashroffadajania). It's exactly the same thing that her half-sister Kendall Jenner went through when she appeared on the cover of the same magazine for their 10th anniversary issue. Ready, set, shine, Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) sizzles in our #March 2018 issue. Photographed by: Greg Swales (@gregswalesart). Stylist: Anaita Shroff Adajania (@anaitashroffadajania). But, after the cover was out, there was a lot of backlash because of the fact that an American model was called instead of an Indian model. Who better to help us plunge into the hottest season than Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on our #March 2018 cover. Photographed by: Greg Swales (@gregswalesart). Also, Vogue India has disabled comments on all the pictures of Kim K on their Instagram, probably because of the backlash, but people are out there on Twitter and they are not holding back. Umm Kim k for vogue India? Wearing a lehenga ? ð — ð¦ (@blondezaynstans) February 27, 2018 Someone has some explaining to do. No shade on the Kardashians.. but like y'all seriously couldn't find an INDIAN for the cover? First Kendall & now Kim? ð @VOGUEIndia — Jenny (@jennymarie_93) February 27, 2018 She has a point. I can't believe @VOGUEIndia featured Kim Kardashian on their cover as if we don't see her featured on a different magazine every day. India's vogue should embrace and feature their own south Asian women instead of choosing someone from pop culture — fari (@fariiihaa) February 27, 2018 Is 'newp' the new 'nope'? We have so many GORGEOUS Indian women who could be on the cover of @VOGUEIndia but you put Kim Kardashian on there. In 2018. Newp — Sowmya Krishnamurthy (@SowmyaK) February 27, 2018 Confusing. The fashion industry loves to preach about the importance of diversity & the efforts made towards it but then @VOGUEIndia will go & put Kim K on its cover 𤠗 Ak (@__akxo) February 27, 2018 Uh oh. I have nothing against Kim Kardashian but @VOGUEIndia is really doing itself a disservice by continually neglecting to portrait brown women in their “magazine”— you're perpetuating a detrimental cycle of underrepresentation. Stop white washing your own damn culture. — Aditi Prasad (@P_diti) February 27, 2018 Umm. kim k on the cover of vogue india?? i guess they couldn't pick an indian woman out of the population of 1.3 billion. — mary ð» (@maryyjamesss) February 27, 2018 But, with the negative also comes the positive. Some people are loving the spread and Kim K. umm kim k in a lehenga? come thruuu vogue india pic.twitter.com/VfFQxCWf7r — mandy ð¦ (@mahendica) February 27, 2018 She does, though. Can't deny that. Kim looked so good for Vogue India — back on my bullshit (@araslanian_) February 27, 2018 Kim slays that lehenga look!! Watch how many haters will come at her for "cultural appropriation", when she's fully on vogue India and wearing a lehenga by an Indian designer. — Aisha ⨠(@theaishaalii) February 27, 2018 And, then there are some people calling out the hypocrisy of the whole situation. Not well, I reckon. Outrage over Kim Kardashian being on the cover of @VOGUEIndia. I wonder how Indians would react if Americans said, “We have so many GORGEOUS American girls who could be on the cover of Vogue USA but you put this Indian woman on there. In 2018. Newp.” pic.twitter.com/5n83F0Tt2w — LALO DAGACH (@LaloDagach) February 27, 2018 Well. *Indian women gracing the cover of international fashion magazine* Indians: Indian women are making india proud abroad *Kim kardashian graced the cover for vogue India 2018* Indians: we don't want it, we want only and only an Indian artist to grace the cover of our magazine — Rihesus (@rihrobfenty) February 27, 2018
