13 Points That Prove That Kunal Kapoor Is Bollywood's Most Underrated Style Icon
In cinema, there are heroes and there are actors (unless you're Amitabh Bachchan and qualify as both). Heroes are the macho, larger than life, flashy style icons. The actors, on the other hand, are so consumed by their craft that the allure of the superficial doesn't really appeal to them. However, when an actor slowly evolves into a fashion icon, that is a transformation worthy of applause. Case in point: Kunal Kapoor. When the tall, lanky, 'serious actor' appeared on screen first, no one expected to see this version of him that we are about to discuss here. Not only did he transform his physique, he has slowly but steadily evolved into Bollywood's most underrated style icon and here's why: 1. No one in Bollywood can do 'Geek chic' like Kunal can. The combo of specs, moustache, bowtie, and wristwatch - flawless is the word. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 2. If Kunal ever decides to venture into Politics, we will have our response to Trudeau ready. (Their faces look similar as well, courtesy those cheekbones) © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 3. Can anyone manage to look this 'Sanskari' while wearing a T-shirt that reads 'MC BC'? No, Sir. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 4. We can't think of anyone who can bring back classic vintage Hollywood like Kunal can. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 5. No one else can pull off (or has the guts to try) a jumbo cornrow manbun. *Applause* © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 6. Only a seasoned fashionista can do justice to a classic Indian ensemble with gutsy elements like flapped pockets and an uneven hemline. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 7. One should only wear that T-shirt when they can fulfil the responsibility of sporting a great moustache. He totally is. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 8. When was the last time someone doused us in nostalgia by wearing an Argyle pattern sweater, replete with the beret? Perfect. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 9. He is a picture of the 'erudite Indian man' in this checked shirt. This probably is the favourite garment of men across the length and breadth of the country. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 10. He realizes that the double-breasted plaid coat needs to be back in everyone's wardrobe. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 11. He wears prints that make you think. Really, what is that print? To us, it looks like a series of Mr Bachchans. Look closely. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 12. He can dress up like a 12-year-old and make it look super macho. Really. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor 13. He just wore this white pintuck shirt for Lakmé Fashion Week and made us stand up and clap till our palms were sore. © Instagram/kunalkkapoor
