4 Horrific Mistakes That Ruin The Whole Process Of Fat Loss
Bro science is basically 'word-of-mouth' knowledge passed off as a fact, primarily amongst novice bodybuilders. Generally spouted most by guys who have used loads of steroids and are huge but have no idea what is happening to their bodies. They live under the false assumption that their experience means they have knowledge. Well, not an oxford dictionary definition but let's accept the fact that each one of us falls for the bro science when we first start dieting. © Thinkstock/Getty Images So, here I am trying to save you from the mistakes I did when I first started dieting. Please beware of these: 1. Eating Too Little Calories A 200 lbs man eating just 1000 kilo calories per day and training like hell in the gym, guess how it resulted for me? Not good. Maybe you'll lose 1-1.5 kilos in a week but that's it, you'll give up on the diet, thinking you are doomed to stay fat, going on the cycle of binge eating, gaining more weight than you eventually lost. Don't do this. You don't need to cut calories too much to lose weight. 2. Following A Trending Fad Diet © Thinkstock/Getty Images A diet which asks you to eliminate certain food groups or eat only a limited list of food items isn't a sustainable diet. You might lose weight but only to regain it soon after. Rather eat a diet which has all the three macros (protein, carbs and fats) and you can stick with it for a long term. Following a diet is like getting a tattoo done. If you can't stick with it for a long term, do not follow it. And put that disgusting Kale down, you don't need to eat it to lose weight. 3. Overdoing Cardio Doing cardio helps in losing weight but it isn't the best thing to do. Rather do a mix of weight training and cardio if you want to lose weight and achieve your dream body. So next time you hit the gym, pick up those weights and walk past that treadmill. Not only this will help you lose weight but will also make you stronger. 4. Fat Burners/Supplements Popping in a pill to burn the fat every morning because duh, Mr. Abs said so! The pill will start a furnace in your body and literally melt all the fat along with your insecurities. The only thing is that the furnace will never start. Nothing will melt away other than your hard-earned cash. There are 100s of pills available in market claiming to burn fat but none of them do so. Make diet your priority, stay in calories deficit to lose fat. Conclusion: Do not make these mistakes and waste your time. Instead, stick to the basics and stay consistent.
