How To Repeat Clothes (Without People Noticing It), Explains Ishaan Khatter

Modern-Indian prints enthusiast and Shahid Kapoor's younger brother, Ishaan Khatter's been quite high lately. Talk of movie releases, paparazzi moments and his well-hydrated curls — there's no ball that's not in his court. Obviously, because of his A-list brother and Khatter's inherited badassery is already a topic of conversation in famous and ordinary circles. Yet, even in his moments of some major spotlight, the actor's playing it super cool; repeating pieces of apparel like a country-famous style maven. If you're in any way, following the actor's menswear history, Khatter's obsession with rather, cultural/tribal Indian prints would be a piece of info at the back of your head. In no way, you'd see the guy as a hypebeast or as one who's trying to be one. Yet, he wears some seriously dope sneakers and puts forward a medley of outfits, that you probably haven't seen before. But most importantly, let's learn the trick of repeating a shirt (without making it look like you never did), courtesy: Ishaan Khatter: © Viral Bhayani We're taking the above shirt as an example today. This shirt that Ishaan's wearing here, has been paired with chinos and ankle-length boots. And quite evidently, the actor has stuck to a very earthy palette with this one. He's almost gone tone-on-tone with most of his outfit, with only the shirt bearing a few more neutral colours. By doing so, he's made the top-half the star of this outfit and with the slight help from his low-heeled boots, brought a lot of elevation to his frame. Though, he's kept things simple, Ishaan went for a master stroke-worthy move here. That said, considering it's such a striking shirt, how does one repeat it? Khatter shows you just how to do that: © Viral Bhayani Being the clever menswear maverick that he is (plus a safe one), Khatter opted for some print-on-print play here. While his primary piece is a relaxed-fit printed kurta, he's topped it off with another printed shirt (the one he treated like a loner, earlier). However, what's to notice is that he traded his boots for Nike tri-toned sneakers here and turned to dark-washed jeans. Without any surprises, he kept his staple mop intact and appeared quite at ease. Agreed, print-on-print may not be the only answer sometimes, but in Ishaan's case, the theory is working like magic. One, because the colour ways of each of the pieces in his top half are almost the same and two, they're fitting him well; nothing's appearing like a last-minute decision. Now that's key.
