5 Android Smartphones That Have Copied The iPhone X Notch And Will Be Launching In 2018

The notch, first seen in the Essential Phone and later kickstarted by the iPhone X, has been the most trending feature of 2018 so far. Last year, we saw every OEM going after the Dual Camera setup and 18:9 screen resolution, now it's time for the Notch to take over. Since the iPhone X, Android too has come a long way. Android P Developer Preview has brought in a 'cut-out' option for developers to test out the notch. Companies are being even more creative and trying to justify the notch in some way or the other. At the end of the day, users are loving it. Here's a list of smartphones that have a notch. 1. ASUS Zenfone 5Z © Economic Times ZenFone 5Z is the flagship smartphone from Asus. It sports a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1080×2246 pixels) display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. At the heart, there lays a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with the AIE (Artificial Intelligence Engine) and Adreno 630 GPU. The ASUS ZenFone 5Z sports a dual rear camera setup, with the primary camera sporting a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor coupled with the 8-megapixel sensor. The phone shall soon be coming to India in the next few months. 2. Vivo V9 © MensXP The Vivo V9 is a successor to the Vivo V7 that was launched back in November of 2017. You can check our review of the Vivo V7 here. Coming back to the V9, it has a 6.3-inch 2280×1080 LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 626 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. On the storage front, it'll come with 64GB inbuilt memory with an option to expand up to 256GB via microSD. The battery is rated at 3260 mAh on the V9. The phone is available in India starting 2nd April. 3. OPPO F7 © MensXP It has a 6.2-inch FHD+ Full View display with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 19:9. All this is delivered in a metal unibody design which provides for a much better feel than competing plastic clad phones in this range. The 64-bit MediaTek Helio P60 Octa-core processor powers both versions, 4GB/6GB RAM & 64GB/128GB. Coming to the camera, it has world first 25MP Sony sensor (f/2.0) on the front to capture selfies. With AI, OPPO claims it has made quite a few enhancements to make the beautification pictures more natural and real. The phone is available in India starting 2nd April. 4. Huawei P20 Pro © Huawei The P20 Pro packs the first ever triple camera setup on any smartphone. The top sensor is an 8MP telephoto lens with 46mm focal length, which will help to capture a true bokeh effect. The middle one is a 40MP RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 28mm focal length. And finally, the bottom lens packs a 20MP monochrome sensor with a f/1.6 aperture which kicks in low-light conditions and helps to capture more light in challenging conditions. It features a 6.1-inch full HD AMOLED panel and is powered by Huawei's own 10nm based Kirin 970 CPU with AI capabilities and Neural Processing Unit chip. The device shall soon be launching in India. 5. OnePlus 6 © OnePlus Yes, the OnePlus 6 is sure to sport a notch as confirmed by Carl Pei to The Verge.
